YG has never really gotten past "good" for me.

 

Same tbh, I usually listen to his new stuff but he never gets put on repeat or anything.

 

Lil b posted all (i think) of his mixtapes on spotify. For those curious and actually willing to try something that will most likely surprise you how good it is, check Gods Father, Pink Flame, Im Gay, Water is Dmg, and Green Flame. His discography is massive so i havent listened to most of it. But there is some underrated ahead-of-his-time shit in there

I don't really follow much about Meek Mill, but what happened? I seem to remember he violated parole and was jailed? What's the story, and why was it unjust

ILLROOTS | Raury - THE WOODS (Album Stream)

New Raury album stream. Haven’t had a chance to listen yet but there was some stuff on his old tape I liked so I’ll be checking it out.

 

Had no idea he had a new album coming, at least gotta check out that Corinne Bailey Rae track, but I'll probably listen to more

 

22 tracks damn. this is such a long album. He has fantastic creative ambition and lyrical/melodic talent but generally feel he could use a good producer to trim the fat down into making one cohesive project.

 

New Partynextdoor and 21 Savage track was neat

 

Indigo Child had some really great Andre 3000/Kid Cudi moments that showed a ton of potential, All We Need seemed like it was devoid of anything that made him unique. I hope there's some gems on this, I definitely agree that working with the right people can bring out more in him

 

I didn’t know he released anything after IC. Guess I’ll skip over the second one then.

 

I just listened to the new Saba. I’ve been terrible about keeping up with 2018 releases, if anyone wants to throw me recs from this year I’d much appreciate it!

 

Rich Homie Quan, Topaz Jones, Towkio, Flatbush Zombies, 2 Chainz, Kendrick Lamar, Gunna, Maxo Kream, Rich the Kid, Cardi B, MF DOOM/Czarface, London Jae, EARTHGANG, and Young Thug all put out great hip-hop so far in 2018

That should keep you busy for a little while lol

I mentioned him in my list up there, but I wanted to highlight this one mixtape that really surprised me. Really excellent Southern rap here.

 

I love the SOB X RBE album more every time I listen to it. It's just so fun. Definitely my favourite album in the genre so far this year.

 

Raury seems like a really strange guy but I've really liked both of his projects so I'll definitely check out the new one

Apparently he left all of his record deals and went to live in the woods with his dog though lol
