Never listened to Ski Mask. Is he worth checking out?

 

I’d say yes just to hear a few songs. It’s been a lot easier to listen to him once he stopped hanging with xxtentacion and I do see some potential in him. These are good.

 

OK, I think we should be done with using Spanish as a marketing tool

 

I'm fine with those remixes, it's a way for artists that have been slept on for too long to get recognition and get paid. Nicky Jam is great.

 

As a Mexican, I just feel like the success of Despacito has lead to the saturation of Spanish music in a way that is not genuine, and simply is using the language/music as a flash-in-the-pan way to boost sales. It's not a coincidence that Spanish remixes are popping up, it's just a way to jump onto the culture and use it for the benefit of the white American, for the most part

 

I would agree with that. I'm still happy for those artists though I guess, and the occasional song is better than the original to me. But yes, you're right. Though Latin remixes have been a thing for a long time and their purpose was mostly to reach Latin markets. I would guess the suits think that post-Despacito they can have it both ways.

For some reason I recently am really into this song:

I usually do not like German hip hop but this song kinda hits me rn.
It's about a couple in their early 30s, living together and fighting a lot. Whenever they are close to breaking up they just chose to watch a romcom on netflix.
I don't know why they put french subtitles in the video, but yeah there's that.
Kinda corny song, but I like it somehow.
