Yeah it’s not incredible and some of the metro beats leave something to be desired but when they’re on they’re on. completely unnecessary run time this could’ve been a tight five star 10 track album but as it stands it’s pretty good

Madvillain is a literally perfect album. Maybe one of the best rap albums ever. No skips

Madvillainy is the one album where, if I randomly hear one song from it in the wild, I need to listen to it all as soon as possible. I can’t listen to one song from it and not hear the rest of it. It’s just not possible.

I’ve been listening to plenty of other things but the Future and Metro album has been dominating most of my listening

I like the new Future, but I also liked the last few and don't really see why people are so into this one and not those

I’d say the production on this is way better than his last few albums. Not to say those albums bad but I think the production on this one is pretty next level.

that and Future just sounds hungry again. I haven’t really felt much passion in his last few projects

I guess... There are a few standout tracks, but overall I feel like it's not all that dissimilar to I Never Liked You or High Off Life.

To each his own, I just didn't think this one was "his best since DS2" or whatever (not to call you out in particular; seems like the overall response has been pretty positive)

Idk, I think it’s that good haha.

There’s another one on the 12th. Will be curious if it’s as good as this one

I’ve never been that big on Metro Boomin’s production, so not sure I’ll go back to this like I have with I Never Liked You or his ST. Still good though.

But I was late to Future, so his classic era never really resonated with me like it has for others.

Also the rap beef that is surrounding this album I think is why it’s getting talked about so heavily and people enjoying it.

Heard Like That at a bar last night already lmao

none of it holds a candle to the stuff he was doing nearly a decade ago at this point

the over saturation did him no favors but hes not alone i stopped keeping up with most rap in general for years because it seemed everyone was just pumping out good but not great stuff over and over

for sure i blame spotify and playlist culture its just pump out as much shit so you can get on playlists and more streams overall / stay relevant
feel like you can just choose one album by him or whatever big name rapper you like and just listen to it repeatedly and itd be the same as listening to whatever new shit theyre dropping every 3-6 months

yeah my number one complaint of pretty much every rap album ive heard in the last few years is the severe lack of editing. i cant listen to anything in one sitting anymore lol. its all designed for a few tracks to hit big on playlists.

This is more of a “me” problem but I also just don’t know who is a). popular and b). putting out great projects, like I did up until 2017/18

I think it kind of goes without saying that he peaked long ago. I just feel like High Off Life and I Never Liked You were good (not great) records that no one cared about and We Don't Trust You is getting hype but I don't feel like it's some kind of return to form or anything.

yeah its not a return to form at all and keeps a streak of good not great going but is more toward the great side of things than most. still just pretty good tho.
