That's odd. Alex Seidel just won James Beard Best Chef Southwest and he has two Denver restaurants.

 

I imagine any city that size has some good and some mediocre restaurants

 

Seriously. He must be going to the wrong places. I had two absolutely tremendous meals in Denver when I was there a few weeks ago.

 

Im sure hes not talking about any premier restaraunts. Most of the time those joints arent indicative of the local cuisine. Like that dudes from Wisconsin.

But yeah, I wouldnt know personally about Colorado food.

Denver has a huge farm to table movement. Those two restaurants are about as local as it gets, although they are finer dining. When I looked for restaurants in Denver, that seemed to be the common theme. I wouldn't expect an average place to be spectacular... I guess I just don't know what he's getting at haha.
