Nutrition is very confusing and even well educated people in the field still debate what is considered a healthy diet. For instance there’s a handful of nutritionist who say being veganism is fine and others who say it’s bad for you. So yeah, it’s frustrating to get any clear answer. My philosophy is to eat as little processed foods. Whole ingredients or foods with fewer ingredients.

Although to make your point, I read a study that fruit is basically like eating a dessert now to our bodies.

In general excessive amounts of sugar are the worst thing for you and you should avoid them. That includes fruit, but a serving here and there is much better for you than other sweet treats or processed foods

Of course this only matters if you want to be healthy

yeah I think it's all about watching what you eat and making informed sustainable decisions, I know you know your shit at least to some extent

I want to be healthy but If I cut sugar out of my diet I'd want to die even more than I currently do now

Once you go without sweet garbage for a week, you no longer crave it.

I just don't buy junk food for the most part. The least healthy thing I buy in a regular basis is tortilla chips, which is a necessary vehicle for salsa

I don't really keep junk food in the house, like I'll do graham crackers instead of cookies, for like snacks and stuff I can go months without potato chips or fries etc and be fine

I am currently not doing a diet so I'm happy with my results. But if I do go keto (I think I'll do it with my promotion because healthy eating is expensive eating and I'll maybe have income again) at some point, I'm going to be miserable for awhile.

My biggest junk food I consistently keep around is the Trader Joe's dried mango slices which are basically coated in sugar.

But I work retail and we always seem to have a plate of cookies or brownies at work.

personally I think it's a good idea to keep eating the foods you love just less often or in smaller portions, personally if I cut out a particular food out of my diet completely I get very mad and it's an awful experience, but if you just kinda try to eat healthier that feels kinda good

It'd be a lot easier to be healthy if @angrycandy wasn't always getting yummy candy and ice cream and snacks for us to share
