I had a Fitbit Versa for a week and I didn’t like it, I returned it and got an Apple Watch. The main thing is the Fitbit was not accurately counting my calories and was overestimating. It would say I burned like 900 calories while sleeping which just isn’t right.

Maybe you sleepwalk or get the Jimmy legs while sleeping

(seriously though, this happens to my mom with the Apple Watch. She wakes up and it says she’s already done 15-20 minutes of exercise because she has restless leg syndrome so she “walks” in bed in her sleep so her watch counts it as activity :crylaugh:)

Every time I’m done with a super long run (such as today, 16 miles) the first five minutes after stopping I’m an emotional wreck. All I want to do is sleep and drink water and punch a hole in the wall and I don’t want to think or do anything and then a few minutes later I’m just comfortably sore and ready to eat. Very weird.

Anyone have any tips on curbing my hunger while calorie counting?? Like any certain foods to focus on that can keep me full at low calories?? I feel like im not eating enough protein and thats keeping me hungry yet lots of things packed with protein are packed with calories too.

I drink a lot of coffee in the morning and that has always decreased my hunger significantly.

Other than that, try fruit? Strawberries, grapes, apple sauce. Not high in calories but may fill you up a bit.

Drink a shit ton of water to keep your stomach full or water + protein powder ~120kcal. Also caffeine is an appetite suppressant so black coffee

yeah I do grapes and apples a good amount, if im being honest I think a good portion of my calorie intake is still like little bags of baked lays or pretzels I eat with my lunch and stuff. Ill sneak in carbs like that and stay under my calories but its deff a waste.

Honestly unless you’re shredding and trying to body build and track amino acid profiles and shit, get the cheapest bulk powder you can find.

I've significantly changed my diet this year...not for weight reasons, but rather I had really high cholesterol in January and was just constantly eating shit food, deli meats, white bread, junk snacks, etc.

Now for lunch on M-W-F all I eat is some apple sauce, grapes, a string cheese stick and either a small bag of pretzels or wheat thins. On Tuesday and Thursday I eat either cereal (Cheerios with Bananas) or a small salad and maybe a small soup too.

I used to eat sandwiches and chips every single day for lunch and it was just awful. I still eat chips on occasion, but nothing like I used to.

But honestly for me, coffee is the biggest thing. It keeps my stomach full virtually for the entire day.

I've lost a good 10 pounds this year - which I wasn't trying to do. Just trying to eat healthier and cut out bad shit.

I'll eat a tiny bag of baked lays that are like, 110 calories per bag, I just feel like if i cut that stuff out completely all of a sudden i hit a day where I binge the fuck outta it. And the sandwich ill eat is just this very thin whole grain bread thats 70 cals a slice with some low sodium boars head turkey on it and a slice of pepperoni. I'm a very simple eater and also that lunch for me is cheap and easy to make and take to work, I cook dinner every night at home which has been alottttttttta stir fry lately.

Water intake definitely needs to increase still and I need to stop skipping breakfast completely.

Why stop skipping? I thought intermittent fast was good for weight loss?

My daily routine is pretzels and hummus around 9-9:30AM (typically nothing before 9)
Chicken caesar salad for lunch; mixed greens, grilled chicken, hard boiled egg, crouton, and caesar dresser
Dinner varies, but typically pasta, turkey tacos, chicken tika masala, etc.

If you’re struggling with hunger and appetite levels I truly could not suggest giving intermittent fasting a try. You’ll learn your appetite has a lot to do with habits that have been formed through your eating pattern. When your body has been used to anticipating an eating time, it will spike your cortisol levels that make you think you’re hungry. But the difference is hunger pain is not from a lack of nutrients in fact your body is just fine typically. If you could focus on honing in on when you’re actually in need of nutrients and when your body is playing tricks it will help a lot. Typically the feeling of being hungry sends a quick spike and signal but it will fizzle our after an hour. Focus on drinking water when you get the initial pain and in a little time it will go away.

I am in no shape or form suggesting that you deprive yourself, as if you truly feel unwell from a pain then eat. But if you could redirect your body into pushing through it, it will form a new habit and it will become easier in time. Like maybe if you’re not doing intermittent fasting, designate a schedule or eating times and the times you’re not eating a meal, push through any hunger and avoid snacking and like after a week you’ll start to notice you don’t need it at all.

Yeah man, but don't let that hold you back or use it as an excuse. You've already lost a lot so keep motivating yourself.

I think it's also recovering as a total emotional eater too, I over ate for enjoyment and fucking lovvvvvvvvvved it. So my mind definitely plays tricks at times and tells me im hungry when im not. Its crazy.

Me too and even if you don’t stick with it long term doing periods of fasting will make you more in tune with your body, what it needs versus what it wants.

The body is truly insane I’ve been eating OMAD (one meal a day) for about two weeks aside from a few regular IF days and I was truly shocked how long my body really could go without food it was all mental dude.
