Omg doing that without any audio is like beast mode tho. I refuse to exercise in silence lol

Hit the 25-minute mark on the elliptical tonight (thanks Knocked Loose), still have a ways to go to the roughly 60ish minutes I was regularly getting at peak physical activity in 2019, but making a lot of quick progress from my 10-minute starting point.

Also, in part of the diet change, I've gone to much smaller yet filling lunches (grilled nuggets and soup has become the standard), and it's pretty much entirely eliminated that post-lunch, work grogginess which is very nice. I'm probably getting fewer calories from my lunches now than I was eating in sauces alone when I wasn't bothering to count calories (those Chick-Fil-A sauces are 140 calories a pop!!!!)

Down 22 pounds so far, if I can just roughly keep the pound-a-week rate, I'll be pretty stoked.

Way to go dude, this is excellent progress.

One of the best nutritional changes I ever made was to stop eating actual meals until like 4pm haha. My food up until then is light, high in protein, and accompanied by a lot of water. I tend to exercise 2-4ish and then have an actual lunch and dinner. It allows me to remain mentally alert and physically with it throughout the day, get the bulk of my work/thinking stuff done, exercise without excess food affecting me, and then really tuck into whatever I'm eating and enjoy it all the more.

Those sauces'll kill you haha. Calorie bombs for sure.

Anyone in here mountain bike, and have any recommendations on beginner bikes? Looking at the REI Co-op brand that is on sale currently for less than $500.

I've generally maintained my weight loss but have also gotten a bit lazy about certain things so I'm trying to re-focus a bit. Trying to focus on getting more steps in each day. Also going to a lot more concerts and summer type events lately which also comes with more food/concessions. Maybe less alcohol cause im not a big drinker but when I do drink I like the summery tropical flavored ones so just watching that. I've been in a recipe rut tho, and working late a lot so not exercising as much as I usually would. Bleh. I need to get like re-excited about new recipes and stuff but I've been so drained lately.

Major goal crossed off today, 30lbs lost!

Was mostly static weighing myself last week, but then dropped around 4 between the past two days, might snap back some, but let's gooo!

Also comfortably at 30-minute elliptical sessions 4 times a week now, pushing for 35 by the week's end.

Edit: Not sure why the image didn't link properly, but still proud!

I've been too lazy/tired to go to the gym as much lately so I've been doing more Barre and pilates at home. I don't think I always do it right but I do think my core is getting noticeably stronger. And when I have to engage my core I can see some muscle trying to appear which is cool but yeah I have a hard time with the small isolation type of movements where they try to describe the movement but its so small you can't really see it. But I'm a slow learner with that type of thing so I think I'll get there. I had the same problem when learning to lift weights properly. We have a climbing gym a few minutes away and I wanna try that too but haven't gotten around to it yet

I wish I realized sooner that running didn't mean I had to try and run as fast as I can. Today I jogged/ran 3.5 miles and could've gone longer. It went by so fast just keeping a steady pace around like 5 and 6 on the treadmill. I used to think I hated running but I just hate sprinting.

I got up to 25 minutes on treadmill the other day, 15 incline. Glad I'm in my "not minding cardio" phase cause I'm up to 225. Was 209 in March, I'm not in as bad of shape as I usually have been when I get in the 220's though

Trying for 30 straight minutes on tread tonight

Having my best cardio sessions in 5 years while being the heaviest I've been in that time certainly feels odd, but a sign that I put on more muscle than I thought

Trying to get back into running after a years-long gap. My initial goal is to run 20 minutes 3 times per week. Once I’ve got that down, start gradually increasing the length and frequency. I went for my first run on Thursday and just got back from my second run today. I’m more out of shape than I thought because I’m not going that fast but I’m still exhausted. It’s easy for me to fall into not giving myself credit for what I’m doing or self-criticizing, but I’m trying to view each run as an accomplishment.

Definitely give yourself the credit! When I was more of a runner I really latched onto not caring about speed. Just moving at a comfortable pace. Somedays will be faster, some slower, but like you said, each run is an accomplishment. Took me years to figure out how to listen to my body during workouts and how I can ease out of whatever plan I'm on based on how I'm feeling.

Slow running is good for learning pacing and it's just funner imo! I wish I liked fast running but I hate the way my heart feels when my heart rate is up high lol which sounds silly but it's why I don't love HIIT or intense cardio. I hate the feeling of my heart feeling like someone has their hand wrapped around it and I struggle to breathe. I can still get into cardio heart rate range without that feeling. But you want me to fast run and then do it uphill? Bye

I do peloton treadmill walks and runs and I refuse to do one where Kate Bush Running Up that Hill is on the playlist cause all the instructors think they're cute and they will alwags have you run uphill. No thnx

Hit the 60-minute mark on the elliptical tonight, very satisfying, such incredible progress over the past 2 months. A few pounds away from 50 pounds lost as well.

Dropped 8 pounds in 25 days, although probably 3 of that was from being sick Sunday and Monday haha

Steadily increasing the duration of my runs, up to 30 min from starting at 20 a couple weeks ago. It’s definitely still taxing but getting a bit easier. Hoping to lose weight or get more toned over the next couple months as I run more and start doing some core workouts. Also cutting out beer for a while!

I started a new training program today. It's a homebrew that I'm hoping to use as a general athletic framework for the rest of my life, so it's got a bit of everything. It's already tracked/logged in a bunch of different places, but I was thinking I'd do a weekly summary in this thread if anyone's interested—don't want to clog up the feed, but I've always found reading others' logs to be interesting.

Talked about nearing 50lbs lost with my last post...

Happy to say I hit that this morning. Tonight was a cardio night so I ate a lighter dinner, but gonna treat myself tomorrow!
