    I do not exist.

The nostalgia is high for all of the first three releases. No idea why people weren’t in to Suck Out The Poison at the time.

I mean, it’s a huge departure from IAH, I get it. But I think it’s better than IAH now

God. That riff at 1:33 on White Bat is such a nice treat

  4. Suck Out The Poison could use just a little bit of trimming, but this is a phenomenal album either way. I like to guess that Memphis May Fire were influenced by this one a lot when they were writing their first full length. I miss southern metalcore/post-hardcore in general.

when i was younger, i was literally obsessed with all things solid state so my mom considered it a safe bet to buy me i am hollywood and son i loved you at your darkest on a whim without knowing if i had even listened to them and those purchases ended up being really impactful and meaningful when i look back

Judging off HIL’s Instagram story- it looks like Matt Goldman produced the new record. Rad as fuck.

He’s the best when it comes to recording any kind of percussion so the drums are going to sound massive on this. Can’t wait!!!!

Agreed. When I think Matt Goldman, my mind automatically associates him with percussion haha. So stoked for this

the ships have all sailed to the sea

According their latest Instagram post, they’re gonna be playing new tunes and rarely played old songs on their run with Emery. Can’t wait to see what they bust out! They seem to have played most songs from Suck Out the Poison onward, so I guess they might be busting out some old I Am Hollywood jams like Creature Walks and Greatest Actor Alive. If they play anything from 91025, that will be insane.

the ships have all sailed to the sea

I was so blown away when they played that when I saw them in 2015. I remember years ago, Matt said they would probably never play it live again.

  18. They must not like it that much then? The chorus has to be their poppiest moment.

I seem to remember him saying he didn’t think they could pull it off live. But that was before Sam joined the band. I think they started expanding their set lists a bit when he joined.

They started tuning lower on Suck Out The Poison, which could be a factor in lack of songs before that live. I Am Hollywood the song for example is mostly screaming, so playing in the lower tuning works, but maybe they just don't like how more melodic material sounds with it. Listening to Dinner With A Gypsy tuned down right now and I'm certainly not crazy about it.

  21. Oh right, I have never really liked the way The Seduction sounds in their lower tuning.

They play a fine amount of IAH now, 2-3 at most. Play Stampede or Clouds man

As far as songs from the newer albums they haven’t played live yet, I’d love to see Spout Mouth, The Carpet, Silent Gold, and The Vampyre.

What ever happened to Flowers of Evil? I guess it fizzled out before it really got started?
