I think “I hate everybody” has a very panic feel, even if it’s not necessarily fever-y

I get it , this is the first cycle I kinda got it but she's a lot

This is the closest I have gotten to... "getting halsey" haha. I still don't LOVE her, but there are more songs from this "era" that I have been into than the first two albums (Nightmare is amazing, finally // beautiful stranger is great)

I’ve never been into Halsey at all but I like graveyard and you should be sad a lot so I think that means I’m giving this album a chance
Or at least I wanted to, before knowing this album gives/gave money to bn. Ugghh :/

Agreed. There's a self seriousness to a lot of her music and so much of it being moody and mid-tempo that keeps me from digging it. But there's a few songs on here like "You Should Be Sad" that are great.

Yeah, I think individually a lot of the songs on this album are solid enough, but as a whole album it's certainly a lot of the same vibe, could use some diversity

Also apparently Nate Ruess has a writing credit on killing boys

The Panic/other emo bands thing was what I immediately thought when I was listening to those songs, before seeing anyone say anything about it. I heard Fever especially with the piano interlude kind of thing in Forever. Some of it also reminds me of Golden by Fall Out Boy. It's not exactly like it but I definitely hear the inspiration.

If she ever makes an album like Nightmare I'll be real into it.

929 is actually on there. It's missing Alanis' Interlude, killin boys, and SUGA's Interlude.

  15. When I saw that I figured fork gave her album like a 3.5 but it’s a 6.5? That’s not even that bad

Imagine getting more worked up over a lukewarm review than the fact that you’re propping up an abuser’s band.

has she said anything else on the Brand New thing? From the earlier posts in this thread, I’d like this album, but idk now.

  23. hasn't addressed it from what i can tell

  24. I suppose she would only adress it if enough people bring it up to her, but it doesn't seem like her fanbase is aware of the case or even of Brand New for it to work.

I'd bet 90% of her fanbase has no idea who Brand New is
