thought this movie was rad but i love extremely trashy movies and especially extremely trashy halloween movies

 

I don't know if I disliked this or Old more.

 

I’d still rank this relatively high compared to the rest of the franchise

4. Halloween Kills
5. Halloween 4

The rest aren’t even worth mentioning

 

the rob zombie halloween 2 is one of my favorite movies of all time

also h20 murders several of the movies on that list

H2O is mid tier for me but the zombie films are the bottom of the barrel for films in general imo

This film isn’t terrible and I’d still watch it over 90% of modern horror films, but it’s a big decline from 2018.

I’ll give this team the benefit of the doubt due to them originally pitching two films and turning it into a trilogy after the success of ‘18. This was 30 minutes of story that was stretched to fill a complete runtime.

This is at least entertaining to an extent, but yeah this is bad. They should've just kept this at 2 instead of making it a trilogy because some of this could have been a cool opening but a whole movie, yikes.

 

So wild that for the third time they brought JLC back for a sequel just to put her in a hospital and give her 15 minutes of screen time.

 

The theater I went to was crazy packed. I have not seen a theater this packed since like Endgame

 

I liked this more than I thought I would. The first hour was pretty solid and the kills in this were very fun. Sure it had some cringe moments, but it’s not like Halloween is a masterpiece outside of the original. The hospital mob scene lost me for a few minutes but the ending brought me back.

God this fucking sucked. Fuck CGI Loomis, let the dead rest.

the flashback was just so unnecessary too. we were already told all the pertinent information through dialogue in 18 (and Frank didn't do shit in this movie so it was pure filler anyway lmao)

 

Just want to say that Season of the Witch rules.

 

it's the second best Halloween movie but don't tell anyone

 

I’m angry at how bad this is. Gordon Green and McBride should genuinely be ashamed at this piece of shit story - the scene in the car might be the worst horror film scene I’ve ever watched. Horrendous half-baked ideas about inept police and vigilantism. Not a single character made a clever decision and every kill was predictable. I was incredibly close to turning this off.

 

Even the last fight scene is so goofy and dramatic in the slow mo cuts - ugh

 

Wow, this was so bad.

 

Pretty disappointed with this on first viewing and I loved 2018. It was messy from the beginning and then it really lost me in the hospital scene. The ending was pretty weak too. On top of that I didn't love the torture aspect to a lot of the kills. That doesn't feel true to the original

Still a better sequel than Don't Breathe 2
