I think this is one of the biggest legs up Gunn has.

There’s so many stories about Marvel movies going into production without an ending, or changing significantly late in the process, etc., giving the artists doing the CGI very short windows to make things look ok. And, that haphazard approach also infamously leads to uses of CGI and green screen that are so unnecessary and comically stupid. It often becomes very expensive improv without a solid backbone or the time needed to put it all together.

From what I can tell, Gunn thinks about his shit a lot more visually and will work more on making sure things are storyboarded beforehand.

 

Yeah it’s not super obvious but you can clearly see Drax carrying him. It took a New Rockstars breakdown for me to look for it lol

 

All the better, he can now replace Majors.

 

Watched this over the weekend. Good stuff overall. Comedy usually hit for me and great character chemistry. Great/unique visuals and soundtrack (minus the Beastie Boys drop). Glad Pratt didn't feel like the main character for the most part. Suffers from the usual marvel villain problems. Could've used more time to develop the High Evolutionary and Adam Warlock was kinda wasted. Wasn't huge on the way it ended but the rest of the movie made up for it.

Yeah I've seen people complaining about him being wasted but I thought he was great.

 

i have a few nitpicks about this movie and he is not one of them

 

this was fine. there have been worse MCU films. there have been better.

Guardians 3 is the only good post-endgame MCU movie. Guardians 2 is the best MCU movie period.

 

Guardians 2 isn’t even the best Guardians movie, it’s the worst

 

Shang-Chi, No Way Home, and Strange 2 are all good.

 

I agree but it's still amazing.

 

I thought Multiverse of Madness was pretty terrible lol

No Way Home rocks though

 

No Way Home was when i realized these movies aren't for me anymore

 

I thought it was a great Scarlett Witch movie.

 

Multiverse of Madness is so good.

 

I do like Guardians 2 more than this, but both are top 10 MCU movies so...

 

Multiverse of Madness is not just a bad MCU movie, it's a bad movie period.

Anyway, G3 was fine, way better than 2 which is just awful. Better than The Marvels as well.

The "Legendary" Star Lord was a weird tag.

 

Not my fault MCU blows now.

 

Still watching though huh

 

I've only seen six marvel movies, three of which were guardians. I'd probably rank them in order - 1>2>3
