So the Groot reborn people have some standing in mythology since a phoenix reborn from the ashes is still the same bird just reborn.

I hate to disagree, but groot is a Flora colossus…not a tree.

To be fair, we could only really notice this at the adult stage since we didn't know what Good Groot looked like as an adolescent

Watched the Xmas special. It was ok.

 

Trees and other plants have all sorts of ways of spreading seed! Maybe Groots can propagate in a way similar to how people like my sister grab pieces that fell off random plants in public, to grow new plants.

 

Shook by this Groot news. Now I'm bummed OGroot died for realsies.

How is anyone supposed to know this with reading a bunch of interviews?

 

I think younger Groot having the mind and personality of a baby, then a teen, and being treated by the rest of the team like a child instead of their peer… does a decent enough job that he’s not really the first movie’s character.

Like, if my brain wasn’t so poisoned by lore, I think I’d still interpret this Groot as an offspring more than the original regenerating.

 

I guess so, I just thought that was part of his physical regrowth.

If we're being honest, he should say "I am Groot Jr." to avoid any confusion.

 

OGroot needs to add ‘Sr.’ to the back of his jersey

 

I just thought that the first movie was clear that he sacrificed himself and I didn't realize anybody thought they just wiped that significance out right away lol

 

Some of us have seen Rise of Skywalker lol

 

I always thought that it was still “Groot” but since it restarted its life as a baby again with no memory of its prior self, it was its own being. Kind of like if I cloned myself and was grown up as a baby again - the clone would be a different version of myself with a different personality *possibly*
