    It's 100% mine. Such a phenomenal record

American Idiot was my gateway to rock music, like it was for many people. I still hold it dear, and no band has come close to writing something as epic as Jesus of Suburbia, but I have recently been thinking Revolution Radio actually might be their best album. It's insane how a band that has been going this long could still write something like Forever Now. I knew they had another great one in them, especially since the last 4 were all kind of duds. Still one of the best bands to ever do it. I hope people are starting to get over how lots of middle schoolers copped Billie's style, because they really are in the ilk with Springsteen.

100% believe that in another 15-20 years or so they will be looked at that way

Been listening to Warning the past couple days. Underrated album. I love the guitar tones.

    No Fun. Not Ever.

Warning is still my favorite album of theirs. That and Kerplunk! hold a special place in my heart. I also have to add that I still cannot stand American Idiot to this day.

Warning might be number 3 for me. Nimrod is my #1. I think American Idiot is a masterpiece though.

Memories are nice, but that's all they are. Prestigious

American Idiot is #1 for me, followed by Insomniac

    Assume It's A Bit

American Idiot is far and away their best album, and in my top 5 albums of all time

  10. American Idiot and Warning are the only great album's they have in my opinion. Everything else is just decent.

Just curious. What don't you like about Nimrod? I've always thought Warning was comparible to that album.

  12. It just doesn't do much for me besides the singles. I know it sounds weird.

I think both those albums stand their ground really well, just fantastically well rounded albums

I know this is a super minority opinion but I don't find any of their albums to be below a 7/10

  15. If you pretend the trilogy didn't happen I'd agree.

I think ya'll need to take some time and re-evaluate the trilogy. It's good stuff.

Change that to 6 and pretend Dos doesn't exist and we've got a deal, haha.

  18. I've spent years trying. It's horrible. Truly shockingly bad songwriting from a band I really like.

I think Dos is the only straight up bad album they have. The other two trilogy albums are just collections of mostly decent songs that don't flow very well in order.

Fair enough. I truly do not see any major disparity in quality between the trilogy and all the rest of the band's catalogue. IMO the trilogy's faults are mostly strange production choices.

I always look at the trilogy as one triple album instead of three albums, which makes some of the weaker songs more forgivable for me

Though I'm a huge fanboy so

1/3 of the trio is solid, 1/3 is good enough 1/3 is whatever. Sadly, its all spread over three albums, making it a bit of a slog

If you took the best third or even best half of the trilogy material, the resulting album would stand up to the rest of their catalog IMO. It wouldn't be among their best albums but it wouldn't stick out too badly.

  25. The best song on the trilogy would be the worst song on any other album of theirs. I've tried to make so many different playlists and I truly can't think of any songs that are even fine. They're all such throwaways it's not worth it.
