Going to assume you really liked *album that shall not be named* because what the heck else does anyone expect from Green Day at this point in time than what this new song sounds like? Haha

Not too bad, definitely a "we are going to sound like Green Day again" single.

Far from their worst lead single. Know Your Enemy holds that title for me to be honest.

KYE is awful, and I’ve really cooled on 21CB overall. People might say this new song is them trying to redo American Idiot, which I get, but 21 CB was the ultimate “let’s just do the same thing again, but different” album, and it just does not age well.

 

21cb is full of insanely good melodies that aged just fine for me

new song veers back and forth from interesting to embarrassing. "one eyed bastard" on the other hand is godawful???

 

murder city on 21CB is a top 5 track

 

I like that 90% of 21CBD is good and fun to sing along with.
Nothing on it matches their best work in my view but I still like playing it and thinking "wow another good one" basically every song.

21CB always felt like it should have came out before American Idiot in their discography. American Idiot is like what if we cut the fat and tightened everything from 21CB up.

But reality is we got the good “rock opera” on the first try

 

That’s alright :)

 

Know Your Enemy rules. Am I wrong? It goes off live, it’s got a fun melody and it’s hardly a bad song by any measure.

 

It’s fine, but it’s very repetitive

 

I think my biggest complaint on it is that it’s yet another song they really stretch out.
