all aspiring comes with equal consequence
like some things we abuse and the joys they prevent

I like this a lot. My favorites would have to be the singles, Rosalie, and Split Up The Kids.

This is outstanding in its own right, but I can’t help but be a LITTLE disappointed this doesn’t sound like the band who made Plastic Cough. I loved that record too.

  15. My granddad died from a brain tumour a few years ago. To my dad, the last months with his father are his most treasured memories. My grandpa softened and allowed my dad to take care of him. Seeing him lose his recollections of us grandkids and seeing him so fragile was devastating. Now, my grandma has quickly deteriorated and probably has (undiagnosed) dementia. She lives alone in a tiny town, she’s retired from work and struggles with depression. I never thought a song would cover impermanence and death the way Mono No Aware does

When grandma slowly faded from Alzheimer's
Like a lifeless steak in that empty diner
It now reminds me of my failing grasp
Of the present, memory, self, and past

Man. I’m fucking wrecked. This album is outstanding

I just keep replaying this album over and over.

This is outdoing every other album I was listening to right now. Like I should listen to other stuff, but I keep wanting to listen to this haha.

I think I figured out my own question and it sounds like the end of Goodbye Sky Harbor. Either way it's awesome.

Just need to say - once again - that “Treat Jar” is phenomenal. Whole album is massive, totally lives up to the expectations laid out by the singles, but that one in particular is doing something to me today.

I think Treat Jar might honestly be my least favorite. I still really like it, but idk. Maybe because Rosalie and Human Condition are two of my favorites
