Honestly I’m leaning that way too. Surprise digital release tomorrow, and physical release on the 1st. There’s no way physicals could come out the same day.

 

How far in advance do bands usually send promo copies to media outlets? I still think preorders will go live tomorrow with a new song.

 

It'll definitely come out tomorrow because I have meetings all day at work and won't be able to listen to it until like 7 or 8pm.

To answer your question, for smaller blogs/outlets it can typically be a month or two in advance, usually when pre-orders go up is a typical time promo copies can arrive. However, this is clearly not a traditional release so all normal rules are basically out the window I’d say.

 

Yep, I'm thinking tomorrow too for a digital release. No matter how trustworthy the recipients are, or how much of a pain ripping vinyl can be, they wouldn't be unleashing it unprotected into the world if it wasn't coming very soon.

From what I've heard, there was a mixup of sorts and it was supposed to come on the 24th/supposed to have a message not to be talked about until the 24th. But none of us knew that.

i was just thinking to myself earlier that this will probably just straight up drop sometime tomorrow or next week. if it doesnt thats fine but it just seems like something they would do.

wouldnt it be wild if the band was like "ok we're going to make up for lost time so this is the 1st of 5 albums we're going to release within the next year we've got a lot of material in the vault that we're ready to show off"

So is it the screaming you don't like? I don't think there's a single scream on the Coloring Book EP. Maybe start there and work backwards?
"Daytona White" is one of my favorite Glassjaw songs, it closes out the EP.
