I’m glad this is coming to theaters but I wish it was on Netflix around Thanksgiving. Very fond memories watching the first one with my dad around turkey day

Definitely a step down from the first. Not even that funny? Everything before the title card was painful.

I thought it was funnier than the first but hey opinions.

now that’s it actually out I’ll post my more spoilery thoughts

i loved pretty much everything, however :

The major plot beats / character types are too similar to the first one, regarding who the main villain is and who the main hero is. Norton is the jerkwad villain like Chris Evans, and Janelle is the underdog who comes out on top just like ana. The next in the series really needs to break that mold.

I love just stumbling on the fact that this dropped and I just purchased tickets to it for Friday

Liked it, but definitely a step down from the first. The ending in particular was super lazy, like Johnson simply had no idea how to end it

No, the whole resolution - first, the super cliche thing of the protagonist just holding out the lynchpin evidence, basically asking the villain to destroy it. Then, this nonsensical thing of all of the other characters first completely kowtowing to Miles, just to finally turn on him on the logic that he will now be “ruined” between the Klear and the Mona Lisa. So long as everyone would just continue to kowtow to him, he would still end up being perfectly fine as always

  23. Love love loved this. No idea how it will age because it is packed to the brim with 2020 references, but I still had such a good time. Give me the Glass Onion neon sign merch.

Agree on the first point, that was pretty silly, but the second didn't really bother me.

  24. Benoit solving the party mystery before Miles sets it up!

Setting up each character through their mask etiquette in the dock scene!

Did you really think they're called sweatshops because they make sweatpants?!

So happy I saw this on a big screen.

  25. I love that we're seeing more of Jessica Henwick in stuff, even if it's just as a side character most of the time. I always recognize her as that one half-Asian actress from the Marvel Netflix shows but forget her name because it's the whitest sounding thing

Also love Janelle Monae in this
