I honestly did not see trump getting a ceasefire deal done, especially this quickly, so I can’t fault people for thinking trump would be at least as bad on Gaza. If he would have ran on forcing a ceasefire I don’t know I would have had to at least withheld my vote from Harris unless she committed to something meaningful. I wonder if there was any strategy like not wanting to force the Harris campaign to be tougher on Israel, or if this is just the chaos of trump doing something good.

 

I still want to see the details of it...we keep hearing they were "forced", but how? Threats of withholding weapons? WOuld be surprising since Trump/other repubs were pretty vehemently against that during the campaign season IIRC, saying Biden was capitulating to Hamas if he did that and etc. So did they go ahead and threaten that anyway? Or was there something else they used as leverage? What else was there?

 

Netanyahu wanted Trump in office and was using the Gazans and his own citizens as collateral, he is not being a dove which I know no one is saying

 

I’m glad it’s happening, but I am confused on what Trump actually did and how this is the result based on what he said at rallies and such. Seems to contradict what he said. But it certainly wasn’t Biden, that useless fuck.

 

David you just have to take the L on this one. We’re talking about withdrawal of troops from Gaza and ending the relentless bombing campaign. If Hamas is agreeing to it I don’t think the details are going to change my opinion

 

Well I know that but there was tremendous pressure within Israel to continue the campaign. It wasn’t just trump won and now we can stop. That’s also too simplistic

 

Take the L on what? It's a good thing that's happening lol. I want to know what was holding it up for so long and why it's happening now. If it was simply a threat of withholding arms or what. Would show just how much of a fuck up it was on Biden admins part. Trump kept his promise of releasing the hostages and getting a ceasefire. Maybe we will get the his bigger wall and mass deportations this time around.
