Seems like a lot of personal things that caused him to go down that path. Sounds like his two divorces put him into financial troubles that he lost a house from, and even though he was working for Deloitte and making good money, his debts were pretty significant at the time of his last divorce. Then after Deloitte, it looks like the place he was working as a real estate agent for had their license expire and then his personal real estate agent license expired not far after.

Those are life events that happen to people every day. I think the article has it right, he’s a deeply violent person. Life does suck in this country for a lot of people and people break down and snap but to go murder a bunch of people who had nothing to do with it seems like something so far outside of a response that it is deeper than all that.
