What? It has her within striking distance of a top spot on an important committee not even 6 years into her career (which is rare) and at a point where it looks likes a very realistic possibility that the old scion of the house working to stop it won’t actuslly be able to do so especially now that AOC had Nancy “taken care of” earlier today:eyes:

They always oppose people like AOC (or what she represents to a lot of progressives anyway) more than people like Manchin. It shows how far from the same side we’re actually on

I didn’t know Mitch was a polio survivor. Wish polio would’ve gotten that one

daylight savings is a good thing actually. keeping sunrise and the start of business hours closer together is a godsend for laborers everywhere

Daylights savings sees a sharp rise in car accidents and heart attacks right along with it

You’re right, it’s a good thing she lied about Harris working tirelessly for a ceasefire. Hope she enjoys her new position, if she gets it (which is not a given despite her groveling like a worm).

Also screws up the local deer population. The night before Thanksgiving 2019 I hit a deer as it was trying to cross a highway, totaled my car (I came out without a scratch) and some time later I saw an article about turning the clocks back causes increased deer accidents.

right but I do think part of that is the dumbass time of day we do it, giving people zero time to adjust before having to wake up and go to work the next day, etc. just no reason (other than $$$) it’s not on a Friday afternoon IMO

I hope she enjoys it too, she’ll be good at it and far better than nearly any other Dem in the House

I believe that helping run cover for the Dems to gloss over genocide will - in the fullness of time - be more meaningful both practically and in terms of her legacy than whatever she might accomplish if she gets this position.
