Do i think it’s going to happen? Nope, not yet. But a bunch of people i used to work with when i was at Sherrod Brown’s office were talking about it going around DC this past week. Saying that that’s what the “stay tuned” in Bernie’s email referred to.

I think if you have someone with credibility and a history of trying to work within the Democrats like Bernie being the one to start a new party then that is probably the best and only way a new party is starting and will have enough legitimacy to be taken seriously by disaffected Dems. I also don’t see it happening either haha.

I have thought for a while that there was a distinct shift in messaging when Klain left. This goes back to that Murphy tweet thread of them not picking fights.

 

Yeah i am not interested in anything they’d do that would be about funneling candidates/money/effort back into the Democratic Party. I love a lot of folks in DSA, but its also a reason that I’m not all the way in with them rn.

It’s honestly really impressive if Murphy, a guy I fucking hate, is willing to say outright ‘we have been avoiding this so that we don’t piss off our donors’
