More often what happens is someone running for a local seat comes to the local DSA chapter asking for an endorsement and then an electoral committee interviews the person and makes a recommendation to endorse or not to the full chapter. It’s pretty rare, that I’ve seen anyway, that the DSA chapter picks someone from their membership to run for a seat.

I just did it. I updated my voter registration and switched from Dems to Green.

I was only a registered Dem to vote in the 2020 primary anyway.

We are split. Non republicans, liberals, democrats, etc. You see it on social media, you see it here. Trump/Republicans are united and stronger than ever

How do you watch the Harris campaign play out the way it did and still believe the democrats can be pushed toward full progressivism

Did you ignore the post I made last night on the reason we’re split being a horrendously inept Democratic Party that didn’t care about the left coalition and catered to neocons

Like we’re going in circles here folks there have been many good posts accurately analyzing this loss and we’re still like “what happened how are we so divided”

I wasn't talking about pushing them to the left, I was talking about completely and utterly taking over the party and steering it in an entirely different direction, a decades long project akin to what they did on the right with abortion, but I think I am just struggling to accept the numbers I am seeing this morning

I am listening to what you guys are saying

They would rather the country become a one party state than let their party be taken over by leftists. There is no feasible way for a party take over.

People want to ignore reality in front of their faces because confronting that reality means accepting the fact that WE have to mobilize and act, and voting for the Dems isnt going to save anything. We can’t just hang out and hope other people will do the right thing for us. OR we can just hang out, but then have to admit that we only care so much. I get why it’s hard for people to commit to one of those two attitudes, but to me that’s really what it is.

I’m going to be so on my dumb bullshit these next few weeks, sorry in advance folks.

I’m so mad. I thought for sure it would have passed here since we already gave RCV for local elections as an option!

democrats once again would rather align with republicans than cede any bit of power to the left. RCV and open primaries threaten the two main parties and they shut that shit down.

I didn't ignore it but there are a lot of democrats who don't see it this way as to why we lost aka why i say we're split

The messaging for it was super weird in CO too. The argument against was something like 'it'll make it easier for candidates with lots of money to perform better' or something like that
