to me it almost seems like they’re saying create a contrast with the stark raving madness of Trump by being soft spoken and calm and etc, but they don’t realize that doesn’t work when you’re so old that talking quietly starts to sound super garbled

I mean that is the issue with his age, he can still read off a teleprompter well but trying to remember your debate prep and what has been drilled into you by your prep team it becomes very clear his age. The being able to pivot and react quickly to what your opponent is saying is not the strong suit of someone his age but reading a book or a teleprompter it still works.

 

Yeah…it’s something Pete is good at, Warren/Sanders pretty good at, Newsome good at, etc…Kamala makes me a little nervous

No one should debate Trump at this point. It's clear it only helps him because it frames his batshit crazy as legit and a perfectly normal option. If you don't spend the whole time talking about how he refuses to accept he lost the last election, refuses to say he'll accept defeat again, and has done and continues to do illegal shit all the time, you're only helping him.

 

Fuck Gavin Newsom but after five minutes on a debate stage he’d have wrapped up the vote of every suburban white woman in America

My mom has been a Biden defender even through the Israel vs Palestine issue, and when I sent her this tweet she was like "wow we're really lowering the bar, aren't we?"

 

Debating Trump should just be asking him like the citizenship questions, what are the branches of government, how many states and supreme court justices are there

 

His supporters don't care because they don't know the answers to those questions either

 

more for my personal enjoyment haha, like imagine asking him how much a dozen eggs cost
