FUCKING FINALLY! I was 100% not going to vote for Biden because of this. He promised for reform for DACA/DREAMERS and nothing has happened and if anything, it's gotten worse and harder (i know it's not his fault 100%).

Me and my wife (who moved here in 1997, "llegally from poland" as an 8 year old, so she's live here for almost 30 years now) and have been married for 5 years, are STILL waiting to hear back from immigration just for the NEXT step to get her a green card/permanent residence status. Knowing her has really opened my eyes to sheer fucked upness of the immigration process in this country.

yeah I posted a tweet about it a couple weeks ago I think, but people really don’t know how fucked up and convoluted the legal immigration system is. Especially the marriage thing, a lot of people seem to think it’s oh get married and fill out some forms and boom you’re a citizen

Lol, he'll be at a prison I once went on a job interview for 18 years ago. It's also the same place the woman who wrote Orange is the New Black was at.

I probably would've thought the same thing if i didn't know her and didn't go through it myself. We had to get a lawyer, so poof that's about 10k right there (most likely going to be more), and then yeah we would've had to go to Poland and go through "port of access" to get back to USA... AND THATS NOT EVEN A GUARANTEE. If something were to be fucked up and they said "no"...then she'd be stuck in Poland.

And we officially filed 3 years ago and we still haven't gotten ANYTHING lol

good news my car is fine! it needs a couple things we’re gonna hold off on and get a second quote but nothing major and we got all new tires and wiper blades. thank god it’s nothing crazy they’re asking 1500 for the couple things but that’s my dads guy out in the rich suburbs im taking it to a tiny shop down here in the city for a second opinion lol. The work we got done was 1200 if I can find a place that’ll do the repairs for a grand I’ll be 2 grand in on a car I paid 5 grand for which I don’t think is too bad at all

"In these photos - Ukrainian soldiers after russian captivity. It was our most challenging shoot in the last six months. After meeting and talking with the guys - we couldn't recover from what we saw and heard for a week.

We are publishing these shots with the permission of the guys themselves. I remember one of them said to me: we must do everything to ensure that this never happens again, to anyone else.

But it keeps happening, every day. Many of our people are still in russian captivity. And there seems to be no end to it.

Some of these photos went to Switzerland for the Peace Summit, where the issue of exchanging everyone for everyone was raised. We hope these documentary portraits of those who have gone through the worst hell will encourage our partners to act decisively, at least on this issue.

We cannot convey what we heard from the guys. But these photos speak for themselves. And this is despite the fact that by the time of our meeting at home, the guys had gained 10 kg each. To understand what it's like to lose 40-50 kg (which is how much they lost during captivity) - look at the pictures where the guys show their photos before captivity.

But what's important is - they were not broken. And each of them repeated: they didn't break me. We talked to doctors at the rehabilitation center where the guys were staying during our meeting. According to them, most of those who went through captivity break down over time. The first weeks back on native soil are a state of euphoria from realizing that they survived. For such cases, in addition to truly professional rehabilitators with an incredibly humane attitude towards the guys, professional psychologists also work with them.

It has been said many times already, but we will repeat it here once again. The twenty-first century, the center of Europe, the age of cutting-edge technologies and artificial intelligence. And right here and now, the largest genocide since World War II is taking place. These photos are evidence of that."

yeah but did you hear Ukraine has Nazis currently living there and fighting in the war? Surely Russia’s invasion and treatment of Ukrainian POWs won’t have any effects on radicalizing more Ukrainians into ultranationalists

RIP Noam. Did and said some goofy stuff, but also some really cool stuff, and I’ve got a soft spot for people who publicly kept the American left’s flame alive between the 60s and the 2010s.
