I got pulled over for an expired license and got a ticket for having weed the night before senior skip day so my mom made me go

 

My mom watches Dr. Phil all the time, every day, and I cannot picture him as being "the guy" the leader of a country sits down to an interview with. Absolutely fucking surreal, in a very bad way.

We’ve never been more lonely/romantically-lost as a society with so many “tools” to find partners.

 

I really don’t know if I could be single now. Having to rely on apps where the person gets to stare and find every flaw before swiping or whatever, or approaching people in social situations where that’s increasingly seen as “weird” and I was always a ball of anxiety doing it before anyway…just have no idea how I’d do it lol

 

Grant, I played this game like 10 years ago but I totally don't remember this

 

it has destroyed my self esteem. From my experience, the longer you chat with someone on those apps, the less likely you are to meet up in person. Very strange. When I try to meet up with matches early on for coffee/drink, it often gets interpreted as “rushing” or even nefarious. Just sucks.

 

I doubt I’ll be single again, but the apps had just popped up before I started dating my wife. They really seemed designed for hook ups at the time. If i ever did become single again, I’d try not to use them.

 

My dad's been in a couple serious relationships through apps fwiw and my little sister met her boyfriend that way too and they've been together for years and live together

Actually.. I think both of my sisters met their boyfriends that way. I met my fiance before they really blew up though, but I love the idea of it. If I were single I feel like it would help my social anxiety because I'm awful at approaching someone irl. I feel like every girl I've dated pursued me first haha

 

my brother met my sister in law on an app and they just had their first kid

 

I should add that I do have friends who are in great relationships with great people who are also now my friends that they met on those things too.

 

my personality is straight up not built for the apps I’ve never used any and never will

 

I’ve been with my fiancée since I was 18 I really don’t think I could date again lol

 

apps seem bad but also it seems fake that people would just walk up to strangers and be like hey wanna fuck

 

there’s no way that’s actually how you think people meet
