I have opened it maybe twice in the past couple months. The first of those was to share invite codes on here. The second was weeks later. Where I saw that nobody had used my codes haha I can’t help but feel it’s already a dead app essentially.

  4. How can you trust any Republicans right now? They told us what to do. We followed their instructions to the letter. And then they pulled the rug out from under us in 24 hrs.
Sorry, this just makes me think Murphy's a dumb ass.

Arguing about republican hypocrisy in 2024 is baby brained shit. It hasn’t moved a vote in 20 years.

I think they really thought they'd be able to get something done like they have on other smaller stuff, but completely failed to realize that on issues like this where 1. the GOP wants there to be a problem for political purposes, and 2. there's no solution to be had from the GOP on this because the politicians are completely aware that feasible immigration policy is not actually compatible with the rhetoric they've now got their base believing.

They have their base believing that we are going to completely shut down the border and let in zero people. It's not only impossible, it's an economic nightmare! The republican politicians know this. They know we need immigrant labor and migrant workers crossing back and forth daily. It's literally what puts food on their constituents tables and runs the farms in their states. But they've completely lost control of their own base because they've been fear mongering them for decades now with a bunch of racist dog whistles about the brown people coming over and really stepped it up with the "invasion" and "military aged males" bullshit so now their base is like "yes yes immigration, shut it down!" and the Republican politicians are like "yes yes immigration, shut it down....to 1.825 million encounters a year, but also don't count all these people in that number, and also we'll agree to increase work visas since we need those workers, and also-" and the base is like "no, no...shut it down completely" because they're racist morons who don't know any better. So now the GOP is in the position where the harsh immigration laws they want that would also still allow the economic activities their states and farmers need to happen are now no longer harsh enough for their base. So they are fucked. Their only choices are to either keep it a problem for political purposes, or literally shut it completely down and fuck up the economy.

This is the GOP today on a lot of issues, but especially immigration. Dems still think the politicians will do the smarter thing and just ignore their base because obviously it's stupid to propose a bunch of policies you agree with and want and then vote it down. But when the base is ALSO in line with the head of the party who is also a racist and will say literally anything to keep the base rabid....they're not going to do it. Dems need to wake the fuck up and realize what they're dealing with. This is a political party that is not interested in governing generally and is increasingly boxing themselves out of the few certain areas they've been willing to actually still govern.

The dad will be toast as well, her case had a little more question to it than the dad. Hoping this sticks through appeal though, sounds like some lawyers think there will be some argument that letting the shooting testimony and video in were prejudicial.

Also if I am not mistaken that school shooting getting a guilty plea can open up previous shootings to the same type of charges against parents. There is no statue of limitations for that type of charge I think? Think this becomes a landmark case in that sense as well as being the first ever, if this sticks through appeal.

love living in a political climate where moving to the right of the GOP is considered a "le epic dunk" and not an abject failure at doing the only you campaign on doing (holding back republicans).
