It's all community theatre

 

The amount of food waste in this country is unconscionable. Let people take it home. Let people dumpster dive for it. Send it to food banks. Fuckin manufactured food scarcity is such an evil thing

 

the cooks at my job love to make the servers they like good shit. one of my boys always cooks me up our breakfast potatoes with cheese nice and crispy

 

we tried to give food to multiple food banks when I was a GM and they would show up for a few weeks and then stop and we’d find another and the cycle would repeat. I think they just didn’t have the funding in this fucked shitass country.

 

The amount of food we used to have throw out at Wegmans was sickeningggg

 

working a regal theatres in my teen years, right before the last round of showings we would always throw like 5 hot dogs in the roller machine. we knew no one would buy them and would just eat them ourselves lol.

 

My summer/winter break job in college was working at a package store (wine, beer, liquor) in a tiny town in MA. Part of the job was delivering cases of booze to weddings and parties, then picking up the unopened stuff to get credited back. Quite often the caterer would pull the foil off bottles, but not actually open them. We couldn't resell it, so I'd just bring it home. I stocked my parents wine cellar that way, and my dorm room looked like a fancy cocktail bar.

 

I got fired from Baskin Robbins for giving all my friends ice cream. The shitty owner wouldn't give me my last paycheck because I didn't have my work shirt to turn back in, so I went back when she wasn't there and my friend gave me my check and one of the giant barrels of cookies and cream ice cream that they scoop out of. That owner was a real piece of shit, she would take advantage of the loop hole where places can pay you less than minimum wage for a certain amount of hours if you called it "training", knowing she had a workforce of all teenagers that would be out partying all night, she would schedule a mandatory team meeting for 7am on New Year's Day. Most of us showed up still drunk knowing the only reason she did it was pure spite.

 

i worked at a dry cleaner through college. our only perk was we got to go through clothes people never came and picked up. it was always shitty business casual clothes that didnt fit though, so i never took anything

 

Should have started an eBay shop.

I don’t even smoke (more a zyn guy personally) but I know my boys Juan & Tony fuck with American Spirits. It’s about establishing good rapport.

 

$8 an hour under the table as a day laborer lol. Mostly ripping out drywall, tile, linoleum, doing landscaping, painting. But the worst thing was directing traffic for a crew that was paving parking lots. Getting there at 5am when they started, and staying super late to block off the next section of the parking lot once all the cars had left. Awful job.

 

I worked at CVS in high school. Really hated it and 100% of the non-high schoolers I worked with were big weirdos.

I would sometimes steal cigarettes even though I didn’t smoke, and one time I was there as a drunk customer and started stuffing candy bars into my pockets. High school was such a boring and strange time, lol.

Best shitty job I had was when I worked at Target in college. Could not stand the managers and majority of the team leads, but there were a lot of very fun and awesome people that worked there and we all knew the job was bullshit so we often had a lot of fun.

 

I’ve only worked at newspapers and as a corn detassler before being professionally employed. Every job sucks.

 

I worked at Office Depot in high school so I just got a bunch of "free" pens. We also sold giant tubs of snacks for offices, so we would open some of those and stash them various places around the store so we could snack while we worked.

The assistant manager got fired for stealing a bunch of computers though.

 

Oh man, I can 100% concur with this. My summer job following my freshman year of college was working for the city's road department and I had to stand in the 95-degree heat in boots, jeans, a thick orange shirt and a traffic vest over it. Hot as fuck and time moves sooooooo slow when you're quite literally just standing in the same spot for 6-8 hours holding a sign.

Absolutely the worst job I ever had.
