Trump melting down again in this Economic Club of Chicago forum/interview thing. Feel like this shit is comparable and probably worse than some of the Biden meltdowns. His new cover of calling all his ramblings the "weave" shows me that they know its going on as well.

I’m surprised she beat Trump to it.

 

Trump came out in support of Amendment 3 here in Florida last month. I think the MAGA strategy is to support it on the state level but not come out for federal legalization yet.

 

Her position is also just moving a littler farther along than what Biden campaigned on and started with the reclassification/decriminalization.

 

Federal legalization doesn't seem like much a big deal now though when the majority of states of are either fully legalized or decriminalized or like Florida on the verge.

Federal legalization really makes the biggest difference in two aspects: easier access to banking and credit for cannabis businesses, and the ability to to provide cannabis based care for veterans through the VA.

 

Weird how bipartisan the support for cannabis legalization has become. One of the few majority bipartisan support issues there is now. I think the only group that is still really against it is diehard evangelicals, but most average working class MAGA Republicans support it.

 

I think it would also open up the avenues for more research on it as a medicine as well, IIRC

 

Libertarians were always Republicans who smoke weed and the gop has become more Libertarian haha

Plus they realized they could make it a billion dollar industry like everything else

 

Also probably opens the door for stuff for standards and regulations through the FDA which is good. Also might get federal agricultural research funding for new growing methods and cultivating better strains, ect. Cannabis farmers will also be eligible for USDA loans and federal farm insurance.

 

The brain rot is strong

 

Agricultural research is one of the more slept on services of the federal government. USDA's Agricultural Research Service is the reason we have seedless grapes, they created the idea of stuffed crust pizza as a way to market the dairy industries surplus. They have been on the forefront of saving bee populations in the US. They have created vaccines for countless animal diseases that would have devastated the US food industry if left untreated.

Also the USDA ARS created the more powerful strains of Hops that our country's multi billion dollar craft beer and microbrewery industry has been built on and has become the lynchpin of the local economy for countless post-industrial towns across the US.

 

Having more research on marijuana would be helpful on thwarting the push for the highest THC content possible weed that is 95% of the market.
