I think they’ve worked to get rid of a lot if the racist/transphobic cards over the years. Co-founder Max Temkin was accused of that and left in 2020.

 

I went to college with Max and always thought he was a major toolbox. There was always rumor/talk about him trying to kiss girls who were not interested.

 

this is also why so many people who come to teaching from the private sector burn out and return to the private sector a lot…even when you’re not working, you’re still on high alert aka making sure the children aren’t cheating or killing each other or etc. only true downtime you get is your 30 minute lunch and your planning period, which even then you gotta try and get some shit done

Well, and Summer. And April Vacation. And the second vacation who’s month I forget.

 

my work life balance as a teacher is significantly better than when I worked in corporate but I obviously get paid less

 

im back and forth on this…summer obviously, but during the school year its very dependent on what’s going on at school haha

 

we get Thanksgiving, christmas, and spring break here. Some districts out there do a little winter break like towards the end of February but we don’t do that here sadly. The stretch from January-Spring break is brutal
