I like to think about what a campaign strategy would look like without the electoral college. Would be so much more interesting and a lot of different ways for each party to approach it than just spending all your time and resources in like 7 or 8 states

Or if electoral votes in each state were allocated proportionally to the percentage of the vote you got. That would be my ideal solution to reforming the electoral college if we were to keep it.

I thought it was somewhat relevant to the discussion because on one hand, a lot of folks feel more comfortable withholding their vote because they’re not in a swing state, but on the other hand Harris seems like almost a lock to win the popular vote as is so it might make people feel more at ease that she doesn’t need to win it by a certain amount due to a few swing states electoral votes. Like she can lose Wisconsin by 10K and it doesn’t matter because she can make that up in other states or whatever

Having no political leverage because of a system thought up hundreds of years ago is a blast lol

ironically it had its golden chance to prove the Founders intent/theory behind it in 2016 and not let the clearly unqualified terrible person into office, and it couldn’t even do that, probably because doing so would incite civil war. It’s not functional for the main purpose it was created for. Of course, if you read Madison’s notes from the convention, a lot of them were like “hey if this doesn’t work, we can just change it!”. Pretty sure outside of black people being equal members of society and technological advances, the biggest shock to them if we resurrected them all today would be that we only amended the Constitution 17 times in 250 years.

I'm so incredibly confident the founding fathers would think us morons. Both because we are, but because there is a black woman out in public.

I am stating the obvious here, but the OPs claim makes absolutely no sense on top of being covertly racist.

Who are they supposed to vote for? They have a clear ask and both candidates have said no. So they either don't vote (and get scolded) or vote third party (and get scolded).

Dem partisans are baby brains and always have been.
