i tried gnocci tonight for the first time ever tight, and sure it was pretty good, but I would prefer pasta

my decision is potatoes can go

Seriously cannot fathom why anyone would prefer rice over potatoes. French fries. Mashed potatoes. Baked potatoes. Scalloped potatoes. Potato chips. Potato pancakes. Tater tots. Hash browns.

I implore all of you to take a hard long look at yourselves and ask when you stepped onto the road of sin.

there are so many different kinds of rice with so many things you could do with them and ways to make them taste better. Not to say potatoes don't have a lot to make with them, but rice isn't really the "boring" thing some people may claim it to be

Yellow rice is great. Brown rice is okay.

I maintain that white rice is bland and uninteresting, and if something has to be done to something to make it palatable, then you're already starting at a disadvantage.

This is the same principle for why turkey is the worst meat.

You know what? It’s Christmas. I reject us having to choose. We can keep all of them. It’s a Christmas miracle!

But Turkeys purpose is to make gravy better

rices purpose is to make other foods better

You're very confused because you think gravy needs turkey to be delicious when it's very clearly and obviously the reverse.

    no the point is that

turkey on its own: a 1/10 food (for light meat) or a 3/10 food (for dark meat)
gravy on its own: a 7/10 food
    gravy + turkey: a 9/10 food

    its the same with rice

white rice on its own: probably still a solid 3/10
    curry on its own: 8/10
    curry + rice: 11/10

    You're not making sense.

Curry and gravy can also be used with other foods. Curry can even be eaten on its own.

So what you mean to say is that gravy and curry make turkey and rice better, not the reverse.

The reverse implies that gravy and curry are the things elevated.

    You're talking in riddles, man!

feel like I already explained this. they both make each other better. the whole is better than the sum of the parts

gravy/curry are still the stars of the show. but rice and turkey are essential to unlocking the best possible form of those dishes.

Gravy is not a dish. Turkey is a dish. You put gravy on turkey. Gravy can also be put on other things, like, for example, mashed potatoes and gravy, which is infinitely better than turkey with gravy. Check and mate.

I'd still rather have turkey with gravy and curry with rice than turkey with mashed potatoes and curry with pasta

Okay but wouldn’t it also be fair to say pasta and potatoes are both bland and uninteresting on their own and need stuff to be done or added to them to make them tasty?

Potatos rock, bread and rice are very useful. Pasta/noodles, unfortunately, super whatever.

Alright, lay it on me. How is rice useful where pasta is not?

As a thing that doesn’t upset my stomach, for starters. Lol but i also just prefer the types of food typically paired with rice more than i like pasta (specifically Italian food, not at all my jam). Plus: congee.
