i guess if it was the CIA, we can feel comfort in knowing they’re even worse at their job than they used to be

The infusion of internet meme culture into the campaign has been funny to watch and not something I was expecting to see.

Biden's team did a little bit of it with the Dark Brandon stuff but feel like its been ratcheted up.

What a time to be alive. I will say, it's kind of amusing to see a campaign being run by people who are very online

Dude within says Trump gives them a 50/50 shot to end the war. I mean, yeah, but probably not in the manner they’re thinking

i personally find tweets i liked in the 2010s being used to get money by people who are backing a genocide to be both weird and creepy.

I’ve already begun the hard but necessary work to separate my conception of myself as a left-leaning individual from my online shit-posting, less I find my entire identity co-opted by Harris HQ posting memes.

The campaign that today said they wouldn’t be considering an arms embargo is asking for money. They’re using dril tweets to raise that money, hoping that people go “heh, epic” and forget about the genocide her administration is helping prop up. Just because you’re incapable of being discerning doesn’t mean the rest of us have to be.

I don’t think they’re “hoping” for that at all or connecting the two in any way. They’re hoping to continue to point out how shitty and ridiculous Trump is and using a funny tweet to do it. Not every single thing they do or put out is connected to the issue you care about the most or is probably even entering their minds when they do it.

I’m at restaurant watching USA basketball and they just took the lead against uh Serbia and people are acting like it’s the miracle on ice lol this country is so obnoxious

No, actually literally everything they do while they simultaneously back a genocide is connected to the fact that they back said genocide. And, because I think genocide is actually really bad, I am going to continue to bring it up before any other conversation regarding the people backing it. It would feel insane - and wildly privileged - to me to do otherwise. If i applauded their use of a dril tweet on a day when she committed to not use one of the biggest pressure points she could on Israel, how much could I say I care about Palestinians?

Honestly, though, I feel like I occupy several minds at once with a lot of this stuff. I think them embracing below-70 energy with their campaign style is GREAT in the context of disarming Republicans. And I think it’s DEPRESSING in the context of one more tool of “the people” being assimilated into the global terror/domestic capitalism machine.

A lot, actually! It is indeed possible to praise someone for doing one thing while chastising them for doing another.

Kamala's team is doing a really good job at messaging on the campaign against Donald Trump. It is nice to have a team that seems better suited for a political campaign in 2024.
Kamala needs to respond better to protestors looking for humane treatment for Palestinians. Her meeting with movement leaders is a good start but policy needs to be put forth ASAP so that people can feel there is real movement towards that goal

These are very easy views to hold simultaneously!
