Walz was an artilleryman, Vance was a public affairs guy lol. You know Joker from Full Metal Jacket? That was JD Vance's MOS in the Marines. He basically a military propagandist desk jockey

 

I've had 2 of my more conservative friends both seem pretty impressed with Tim Walz.

My one friend that doesn't really follow politics much and has told me in the past he is voting for Trump, said that he looked into Walz a bit and would vote for him if he was the nominee, but can't bring himself to vote for Harris.

Another friend said he thinks a lot of what Walz has done as governor sounded pretty good.

Now I guess it doesn't matter since I don't see either of them actually voting for the ticket, but I think it does show that maybe many moderate or conservatives aren't going to so easily fall for the "too far left" message they are trying to paint Walz as

 

In between wanting to superkick everyone crazy hopeful about walz and conservatives forcing me to reluctantly like him

 

Honestly, anything they try to stick on Harris or Walz won’t weigh them down because ultimately the comparison is Donald Trump and what do they REALLY have to make him look good on?

 

I hear that Pete is extremely smart, but most of the bump I've seen him getting lately seems to be about him being an excellent communicator and making Republicans look dumb on Fox News in spectacular fashion

I'm sure being a good communicator is part of being a good president but it doesn't seem like the end all be all for a chief executive

 

I think it’s fun to see the Dems break from lawyers doing Obama impressions and names we’ve heard for 40 years. But also, i feel like people getting too hyped for Vice President Dad in the midst of everything going on is concerning. I’m just trying to allow people some time to feel nice about it lol

 

2 weeks ago we were on a ship led by a guy who seemed half dead and about to be taken over by AC Taj Mahal Hitler. Let us take a little joy here.

 

The Harris campaign not doing typical dem thumb in your eyes stuff is cool. Pelosi fan posts and discussing mayor Pete being president just because he goes on Fox News is not cool

 

I’m an American socialist, all i have is Being a Bummer at Parties. Lol

But, i am enjoying today too.

 

It's teamwork in a way we haven't really seen though. The Republicans use to be really, really good at that and it gave them advantages. (Now they're a mess.)

Yeah those same dems showed team work when it came to stomping out the Bernie campaign. So I don’t take that as a great sign exactly. Still glad Walz is the pick but don’t care to thank Pelosi

We can still say Pelosi sucks but you have to admit she has power and knows how to use it. And it's nice that lately it has been for the good instead of the shit it usually is

 

I don’t want to oversell it, but I do think there is value in sending the message that you get rewarded in the Dem party when you actually accomplish things for people.

Like, we want Dem governors to be like Walz, who achieved a lot with a slim majority. So let’s create that incentive, if nothing else.

 

It doesn’t matter if it’s cool or not lol mayor Pete is the future of democrats, I didn’t say it’s a good thing
