VP plays a pretty big role in your campaign strategy

the whole "VP is from this state so it'll help you win it" stuff is bonkers. but a good VP pick is essential to winning a lot of these states

There must be some kind of consternation over setting a precedent where both the main and VP candidates are well-liked by and energizing for voters. Better if we have at least one of those guys absolutely suck. Kinda like you don’t want to show your bosses at work what it looks like when you really triple down and be your most productive self. They’ll start to expect that every day.

Shapiro sucks to lefties on Twitter…normies will love him because he speaks clearly and energetically and smart. But he’d have to do some making up with unions if it’s him.

Please be Walz or Bashear. I’d take Pete over Shapiro at this point

Exactly. Even if it is him, a mayor is not told that kind of information.

I've definitely gotten on the Walz train for VP. He's the vest choice and it's not even really close imo. Shapiro wouldn't be as big of a disaster as people think, but Beshear, Kelly, or Buttigieg would all be much better choices.

Thinking back at Hillary picking Tim Kaine, which was arguably the worst of the options on her shortlist. Hopefully this isn't a repeat of the dem picking the worst option on the shortlist. At least Biden picking Harris wasn't the worst option he was consdering.

I'm not even sure normies will love him. Republicans have floundered since Kamala took over because the only actual things they have to attack her on (like her record as a DA) are stuff that they'd normally actually support. So instead they are stuck ranting about stuff like how she's mixed race and that confuses them and Kamala's numbers go up because no one is out there actually giving reasonable reasons to dislike her

Shapiro would give them something to actually complain about that isn't weird. Anyone who wants a reason to dislike the guy will have one, and they'll raise enough of a fuss its going to effect other people's perceptions as well.

UAW endorsing Harris tells me it won't be Shapiro (I'm coping but Fain isn't one to make compromises with elites)

This is why I think it’s gonna be him. He is very good at this. I love the ‘weird’ thing, but it’s a better talking point on MSNBC than it is as a platform. The top of the ticket has to send a different message and he’s great at supporting that vision.

The reference to “thousands of years” in discussing Israel/Palestine shows his Zionism. If this guy is on the ticket I might not vote. It’s too disgusting.

I remember this one right before the 2008 election. Good reminder that every four years voters believe that if the opposition comes to power its the end of our way of life as we know it
