Re document leaks - This is from the BBC article about the arrested suspect, and if true, I can't imagine a more braindead, dimwitted dweeb move has ever occurred.

One of the big questions is motivation.

Members of the chat room say that the alleged leaker wasn't driven by politics, and instead was just trying to impress his friends. We'll surely hear more about that soon.

Didn’t the dems have the house during the Alito leak stuff? The Court killed Roe in the midst of that and they still wouldn’t do anything of substance to check the court. It’s infuriating

I will always find it fucked up how hard this country comes down on people who leak military documents. There’s never any real “national security” issue other than exposing how evil and imperialist our military and foreign policy is. This one looks less like a whistleblower but I’ll still never support these kinds of prosecutions

 

if the dude was leaking stuff for the purpose of exposing corrupt and evil stuff the government was doing I'd have way more sympathy than him just doing it because he wanted to "impress his friends" like he's clearly just a dumbass lol

 

He’ll be prosecuted with the same overbearing laws that are used to imprison whistleblowers. Nobody should be prosecuted under those laws

 

Wasn’t he leaking them to like a racist discord chat he was in? Or something like that?
