How does voting for speaker of the house work?

I've seen some chatter on twitter that like, they only need a couple of republicans to vote against McCarthy and he'll go down. Is that right? Lets say the final tally is something like 220-215... do republicans really need to find someone they can get 218 republicans to vote for? Or do they just need to find someone to get 111 republicans to vote for?

Cause honestly republicans being unable to pick a speaker cause they are so fragmented would be downright hilarious.

It’s definitely a race thing there…Asian Americans in NYC were targeted in a bunch of hate crimes after covid and a lot of the people doing it ended up being black, and there was already some tensions between those two communities.
