love how these migrants are now getting a free Martha's Vineyard vacation.

 

I've lived in MA my whole life and only went to MV for the first time ever last February. and my mom paid for everything because there is no way in hell I could ever afford to go myself.

and I'm pretty sure they aren't seeing it as a vacation....they are probably pissed/scared/worried they were lied to and very thankful for the help and assistance.

 

@St. Nate also I'm not mad at you or what you said...I'm just super emotional about this whole thing. its disgusting what DeSantis did. I'm gonna be mad about it for a while lol.

 

Vegas is cool for 48 hours, maybe once every 5 years.

"We have your backs" is really the message we need to hear more of in this country.

I've said it before and I'll say it again!

 

Sadly this is another partisan issue that like always is inspiring one side and angering the other. 'Desantis is a badass who has owned the libs' is what I'm seeing wherever the usual conservative nonsense is spouted. I have not seen a single post of someone saying 'you know what, I'm conservative but this is not okay'. I don't know what it will take for people to start switching sides or at the very least speaking out against the uglier parts of their party.

 

I think its a really powerful slogan specifically because it counters that fuck you I got mine mindset. This is really just basic human decency, be there for each other, help out, do what you can. But there's millions of people in this country cheering on the suffering of others, they don't even realize how its going to hurt them in the long run. They can't even help people for selfish reasons, its wild.

 

I balled watching that. I'm just so thankful that the people of MV came together, no questions asked and helped.

This was the perfect example of how America should be.

 

so if I understand this the basic idea is

- take an immigrant who is legally here seeking asylum who has done nothing wrong
- fuck with their ability to follow the law by messing with their address and then sending them to a complete different part of the country
- now that you've induced them into breaking the law deport them

It blows my mind that just 21 years ago this week we were all so united and standing together, people with American flags all over their cars, homes, bodies...

How did we get here? What happened? It's just so fucking depressing.

 

That was a false patriotism that led to a massive rise in hate crimes and attacks against Muslim people, its always been bad and fucked up.

 

I was 17. I knew nothing about the world around me.
