Hey, I didn't say I was sure, just that I've seen a lot of sources that seem reasonably accurate for this day and age reporting: that it was the Nova or Tribe of Nova underground outdoor music festival Supernova timed to coincide with Sukkot and held on rural farmland near the Israeli / Gaza border, that it was attacked, that people fled on foot and in their vehicles, and that many of them were killed and many of them were taken prisoner / hostage. I don't know for sure about the paragliders, but I've seen some pictures and videos that seem to show that they were used, but that's been harder to verify.

Israel-Palestinian violence: Festival revellers flee as militants invade

There are a lot more articles regarding the festival attack. The paragliders, any mention of them that I can find all link to that same one clip, and mention of those seem to be coming from much more heavily slanted and inflammatory sources.

I thought you were saying that you didn't think that it happened, hence my previous post.

Wild to me to post that tweet but not post anything about the years and years of similar actions by the Israeli state. I don't even have to talk about the woman and children they have killed, I can just point to like two months ago when they were pouring concrete over the water wells during a fucking drought.

That is correct. There are well over a hundred of people that were killed there, many of them are not even Israelis. The girl that in the video Hamas posted where they paraded her dead naked body is actually German.

Edit: death toll from the party currently stands at 260

I would be real careful about claiming anything about who is from where at this point.

I think I was pretty careful in what I said seemed pretty verifiable, namely just that the festival attack happened. It seemed like people were questioning that it happened at all it at first but that quickly seemed to then transition into everyone talking as if it is accepted fact and the convo became more about everyone's thoughts on it and the offensive at large

My point was not about the festival itself, there is just a lot of bullshit on Twitter right now in regards to other aspects of this. I've seen videos with disputed translations amongst other stuff.

I ahve many friends and family right now in Israel and it's breaking my heart. Right now there is an approximation of 1000 killed Israelis. The actual attack in the Palestinian side hasn't even started yet. Twitter is flooded with tons of lies and propganda.

This is a war that has been going on for ages and it's all because of stupid religious shit. That is the root of the problem. Don't be an asshole and be happy that people are dying. Nobody wanted to be born into this shitstorm.

My advice is to take everything your hear with a grain of salt because it's probably all one sided.

the root of the problem is settler colonialism

I really don't think its correct to simply label the root of the conflict as "all because of stupid religious shit". Yeah, religion plays a deep role in the conflict. But that label glosses over the role oppression and occupation play in the conflict.

Religious differences make it easy to fuel the fire. But they aren't the reason the fire is there in the first place.

People really still think the Israel/Palestine conflict is all about religion? lol actually no that’s sad. I used to see that used to justify just not having an opinion and letting one side (Israel) wipe out the other

there wasn’t any war there for a looooong time and then some imperialist powers decided Israel would get a country and the people who already lived there would have to be second class citizens. I think that probably has more to do it with than some religious battles over a thousand years ago
