Ah yes, so good to see our annual school shootings have begun the first week back. Nothing to be done, etc.

Only in America is my reaction, “oh, only one person? That’s not a mass shooting. I guess it could have been worse.” Which felt super gross to think. We are so fucked.

 

Yeah I was thinking this after Jason posted about the racist shooter in Florida yesterday and how I hadn't even heard a thing about it. I guess a body count of 3 just isn't high enough for people to freak out and care.

 

I heard about it, but that’s probably because I’m in Florida. Desantis did a thing in the past day and got booed. Fuck that piece of shit.

I gotta say, after so many years reading about Foxconn and given that a good part of Taiwan's whole geopolitical deal is this industry, it's pretty surreal for this guy to be running.
From what I understand he'll pretty much split the opposition vote though so not much would "change" compared to status quo due to him running.

 

That’s right. He’ll split the vote on the side of the KMT (nationalist/pro-to-neutral take on China).

The DPP front runner, Lai, is already up by at least 10% so a third candidate to take up KMT votes is really weird. Gou is a moron, as expected. I won’t complain, however, as I’m not in favor of KMT being in charge.

 

Whatever happened to this franchise? I last remember playing it on a Panasonic 3DO console.

 

The creator became a transphobe and the rights owners have a sequel and a cartoon in development hell, the former of which is/was intended for the Intellivision Amico, also in development hell.

I also regret to inform you that Earthworm Jim was never on 3DO. Appreciate the reference though.

 

It was probably a Sega console then. It was in the mid 90s. My memory is doing the ole switch-a-roo.

Shame to hear about the creator. Would be a cool throwback to revisit the franchise if another group manages to finally release something while keeping him out of it.

 

I experienced a few seconds of nostalgic joy seeing a Sega Genesis flashback from my childhood and then 2023 came swooping right in and shit all over it.
