what matters the intentions as long as the money helps people?

 

You're falling for PR. He uses giving money away to make money, if he actually cared about helping poor people we'd never hear about it. The flashier charity he does the more money goes in his own pockets.

And all this reinforces the lie that rich people are doing more to help the poor when they're just propping up the system they use to exploit the poor. He couldn't exist without poor people to exploit, same with any billionaire.

 

Doing good with the express intention of patting yourself on the back is a selfish desire

 

I mean you basically said the same thing I did, just that it’s an exaggerated problem that doesn’t NEED to cause those things. But the main point is it still causes those things because there’s enough footage and examples out there to spook businesses and communities into doing bad shit

I have to believe Nate is carrying on some joke. He’s just parroting defenses of billionaires. Look at the people they help. have you given a million dollars to charity? who cares if it’s exploitative and props up inequality if a poor person is helped.

That’s not why he’s doing it, he’s using the poor to make money. Again, if he was doing this to help the poor he wouldn’t be rich in the first place.

hate to bring classic Christianity to the thread, but charity doesn’t count as a good deed if you’re doing it for self aggrandizement. That’s for your benefit and not the benefit of the poor.

Also a rich person giving away money is not as generous as a poor person sharing all they have with their fellow poor people. If he wanted to help the poor for real he wouldn’t be getting rich off of them.

 

If Nate is truly trolling I wish him a job well done and feel dumb for it going right over my head

 

It's just nice to see he has more than one joke and didn't say Natty Sauce once.
