I worked for the events production team in college, which means I spent a ton of time listening to political speeches and debates. The highlight was when John McCain came through town during the 2008 campaign. He had his secret service detail and everything, so before I could mic him up they had to give me a once over. I got a laugh out of him when I said "Your friends sure are handsy."

He then gave the most boring speech about the importance of elevating conservative justices through the ranks to build a bench for future Supreme Court appointments, which in hindsight...

 

Can't wait for the bullshit reason they make up to strike this down. I wonder what BS they will use to argue a place like Portland, Maine, where the people voted overwhelmingly in 2020 for rent control and essentially reaffirmed it 2023.

I know they haven't ruled on anything, but the writing is usually on the wall with this court. Like what excuse can they use to strip away something citizens voted on and approved?

The old CEO of our company (he's both incredibly old in age and the former CEO that no longer works here) is currently puttering around the halls telling everyone any storm named after Hillary is going to be a deadly one and laughing his whole butt off.

 

The old CEO just wanders the halls of his old company even though he no longer works there? That sounds... almost kind of sad, actually.

 

It's bonkers. He'll go to IT and make them help with his phone and just ask people for random documents from years ago. Everyone hates it, especially the old CEO. We had a conference recently and he showed up with his nametag that says CEO and the new CEO was pissed. It's pretty hilarious.
