I honestly can’t remember a single film we watched in HS besides the Leo version of Romeo & Juliet. I only remember that because your parents had to sign a permission slip, this was in 2002 lol.

We had a substitute in middle school that always brought The Mummy with him. So saw that movie a lot haha.

as for movies in class, we watched Selena in Spanish. Watched To kill a mocking bird in English 10. Watched Of Mice and Men in 6th grade." I took a sports training class in 10th grade and we watched a lot of movies in there that were sports related like Rudy, Remember the Titans, etc.

My peewee football coach took a bunch of us to see Remember the Titans in theaters and it was awesome, we came out all pumped up and wanting to win a championship and we did end up winning it that year haha. That was my 2nd to last year in peewees iirc, but I had broke my arm in gym class and missed the semifinals and finals. It sucked.

My freshman year of high school, something like three separate teachers had us watch Groundhog Day over the course of the year. The most fitting movie for that to happen.

This was essentially his response to us. He used to have one of those long pointer sticks he used while teaching, and one time he got so mad at us he broke it over his own head.

  16. I took a film elective in high school and it was pretty cool, most of the class didn't understand the idea of like critically or academically watching movies at all, but I saw a few classics I wouldn't have otherwise. The only one coming to mind right now is The Graduate though lol

our district has an American history through film class in our district now that I’m dying to teach but my school isn’t pushing it hard so we’ve only had one class run the last couple years and another teacher in my department actually has her bachelors in Film Studies or something like that so she’s the obvious choice to teach it. My AP Us teacher at my alma mater pioneered it and their school has 3 or 4 sections of it.

In college I took a poli sci film class where we watched films from 1939-1945 and how they contemporarily reflected World War II at the time

    yeah that sounds awesome haha.

I already know some of the films they use for our course and I know I love a bunch of them. The Untouchables is such a fun movie for prohibition haha
