    Question for the HS teachers...

Girlfriend and I are reading a book set in the '80s where they're talking about spirit week in High School. One of the days they had was Slave Day, I looked it up and it was a real thing. Yikes. It got us talking about our High Schools and what we did for Spirit Week, seems like Nerd Day was always a thing. Anyway, is Powder Puff Day still a thing where the Football team dresses up as cheerleaders and vice versa or has that gone away with all the gay panic and drag panic bullshit going on?

I definitely remember us having a cross dress day sometime in the last few years, and remember it happening when I was in my subbing days as well.

We have had a powder puff football game the last few years but I don’t recall any dressing up being associated with it

  15. I think my high school had dress like a pirate day at one point, and my friend was the *only* kid in the entire school who actually did it

In high school one of the spirit days was 80s day. I suppose high schoolers now have a day to dress up like the early 2000s?

The dominant fashion among teens here in Oslo by far is late 90’s / early 2000’s baggy grunge. Oversized, off color shirts, sweaters, and pants (no woman wears dark black pants; has to be off-black pants, I guess), intentionally dirty and 90’s style shoes, hair split down the center, etc

  22. That’s here too, from what I see

They're definitely embracing some of this shittiest styles from our youth, it's funny though because it more like an amalgamation of stuff from early 90s to mid 2000s, so its always like a weird facsimile and never quite right.
