First I’ve heard of this but looked it up on IMDB and holy hell it is getting a lot of positive reviews. Seems like a pretty typical kid gets kidnapped and tough guy goes and kills half a foreign country to rescue said kid. We get like 3 of these every year and I find most of them to be trash anyway.

 

I honestly hadn't heard of it until this week and I didn't care enough to look into it, but someone (not here) said it was a documentary? And this definitely does not look like a documentary...

I do also notice though it's got a relatively decent RT score, which I find interesting.

 

It 100% is exactly that. It languished in post production hell for years because no one would pick it up until Angel Films picked it up, which, if you look it up, is exactly what it sounds like. Christian, clean media for the whooooole family including this children’s show with quite the description:



They refer to it as a “documentary” because the guy Jim Caviezel is playing, Tim Ballard (a member of LDS mind you) views it that way. He runs what is essentially a Q adjacent charity which can only be described as another right wing con:

 

I remember a couple decades ago when Caviezel was seen as a big, up and coming talent whose performances were once described as “soulful”, and then…along came The Passion of the Christ.

Oh yeah. The trailer itself features a children’s choir performance of “Let Freedom Ring” and the YouTube comments are filled with thousands of Qanon followers posting “everything is connected, you just have to know what to look for” and “we are the storm” tropes. It is basically a Qanon superhero “Save the Children” movie where its supporters only wish it hadn’t been “watered down” so as not to include Tim Ballard’s belief that children’s brains are being harvested for adrenochrome.
