tbh I have no idea. Like I don’t know how McCarthy brings this to the floor thinking he got a huge win for Repubs. And does he even survive a vote that could be more Dems than Repubs? Feels like that “any one member can can for a new speaker vote” clause could come into play here.

I think maybe they played their hand and demands up way too much to the media to then settle for this. It’s bad for America/left priorities but compared to what they were blustering about what they wanted/were gonna get, this looks terrible in comparison for them
