His wife, Mary Shinkle, is a witness in Trump’s federal lawsuit as one of more than 100 GOP poll challengers who filed affidavits about their experience at the TCF Center in Detroit, where absentee votes were counted.

“She saw a lot of strange things going on,” Shinkle told Bridge, pledging to keep an open mind about the statewide election overseen by local officials in 1,600 jurisdictions.

“I only know stuff second- and third-hand,” he said. “When it comes to my job on the Board of State Canvassers, I wait until I hear both sides before I make a decision.”


The other Republican on the board, Aaron Van Langevelde, did not respond to a Bridge voicemail or other attempts to reach him. He’s an attorney who currently works for the House Republican caucus.

Yeah so not really confident the GOP on the MI board will resist the coup.

 

This is one of the things that worries me the most. If this is treated as a viable, winning strategy, what's to stop everyone from doing it going forward?

 

Everything I've seen says it just gets kicked up the chain and will be certified by another group. It won't flip

I read something about public pressure but nothing too specific.

 

Reason #1 I do not have a kidney yet. I got the okay back in March pending a routine exam. I have not gotten this exam solely because it would make me active on the list and I can't imagine destroying my immune system in a pandemic. I'm stable. I can wait a little longer. (I could be activated and could essentially turn down every offer but I'm not going to waste the callers time, only one hour, to get in contact with the top person or move on)
