we watched a video in my AP Gov class and it’s clear how much their public shows that they put up are driven by their consultants and think tank people that drive their decisions on how to get elected and how beyond that shit they’re all pretty friendly with each other/treat each other like humans.

Can't we get a couple of more moderate republicans to agree to make someone like Romney leader instead? Like if Dems + Collins + Romney + Murk were all "We want Romney as leader" could that work? Or would those three have to switch parties?
