All of this reminds me of an article about Trump Jr. that was posted here a couple years ago. I don’t feel bad for Trump Jr. as he is now. He took the pain in his life and allowed it to turn him into the person he became. So many suffer horrendous childhoods yet find a way to be better.

I do agree, however, about feeling badly for the child he was. His story is a cautionary tale for parents. Love your kids. With all of your heart, love your kids.

I read that and I can see the trauma very clearly, how it shaped him; how it warped him. I imagine what it would have been had his grandfather never died.

Love your kids. Tell them you love them. Mean it. Otherwise one day your kid may be a full grown adult still reaching out and hoping for the embrace of a father that will never come, for all the world to see.

I grew up in a house without guns so I never thought I'd have them. We have 2 handguns and my husband has his conceal carry (not in my name, but i do have a FOID). We live out in the boonies and in a dire emergency it still takes the cops 35+mins to get here. Our town has changed so much just in the last 5 years I'm glad we have them honestly.
