I know this is a dumb question but I really don’t know the answer: why does the vote counting take so long in some places but not others?

I feel like the media not sufficiently explaining this just makes it easier for Trump come in and claim that it’s because they’re committing mass fraud

I could be wrong, but I imagine it's just volume in certain places.

  6. in PA, few reasons: 1) GOP wouldn’t let them start early, 2) they made them pause to set up new “watching” stations closer to vote counting, which slowed it, 3) lots of votes/locations

Different rules for counting. Some places could not start until later. Some places have been doing mail-in for a while and are practiced at it, others it's brand new. Some places plowing through, others stopping and starting. Lawsuits and other shenanigans holding up counts for brief periods.

Plus, in PA, ballots had to be in at least 2 different envelopes. Probably lots of breaks for treating paper cuts.

    By my math:

    there are another:

10k net votes for Biden in Bucks
14k net votes for Biden in Lehigh
22k net votes for Biden in Alleghney
70k net votes for Biden in Philly

plenty scattered around the rest of the state too

hope enough gets counted by EOD so we can end this thing and then clean it up in the morning

  15. Few thoughts:

    1) lame duck is gonna be sooooo fucking weird.

    2) i was legit happy when Obama won, for Obama, i’m just glad Trump is out and have no feeling about Biden like that. Weird and very different feeling.

ngl I am beyond stoked by the prospect of a President whose strategy isn't to dominate and control the news cycle.

Yeah, I am stoked for Biden, honestly. And I am legit hopeful after seeing the r/conservative community blow up at their party about Dem's having a shot in the Georgia runoff.

I think not having control of the senate is bumming me out. I feel like I should be happy Trump Is out, but I'm somehow just as hopeless. No catharsis.

I don't see it, but maybe Trump's loss demobilizes his die-hards. Who knows.

Biden has flipped Erie County. Votes should be updated momentarily.
