As the local Gen Z member of this thread, it's worth noting that pretty much everyone I know is setting up voting plans.

Teens are making early voting carpools and doing registration challenges to see how many of their friends they can sign up to vote.

I did an instagram poll asking if they were "voting for biden" or "not voting" and 96% of respondents (all in the 18-21 age demographic) said they were voting. Hell, I know kids convinving their parents to vote for the first time.

It's anecdotal, but I have no doubt there will be record youth turnout this year.

But who am I kidding, they'd be convinced it's democratic propaganda and ignore it anyways

 

We really need to keep hammering down and educating people on the point that the results on election night might show big republican leads because in person votes get counted first and republicans tend to choose in person over mail in voting and democrats choose mail in voting. Bernie does a great job at explaining that scenario.

Early voted first thing this morning here in Texas. Feels good to have that done!

 

Because of the electoral college both candidates are only going after issues affecting a few thousand voters rather than the millions who aren’t even affected by fracking...if the popular vote mattered we wouldn't even be hearing about it...system needs to change.

 

Has anyone in here watched Immigration Nation on Netflix? I truly cannot figure out how DHS and ICE actually let those filmmakers document their activity. Did they think it was going to go well for them?

 

It's because they thought what they're doing is badass but everyone else can see they're evil.

 

Got an email from our superintendent tonight saying they're changing course and teachers are no longer required to report to the buildings on October 28th if they don’t have students yet. So now my unofficial return date to the building is December 2nd and with students the 14th. But those are tentative and subject to change.

At least it means I can keep the baby home for another month+ and out of daycare
